Fingerprint Appointment!

Today is the day we have been looking forward to for about three weeks! Our fingerprinting appointment was @ 10am on Tuesday up in downtown Portland. So far, all of our interactions with the governmental agencies have been positive. Today was no exception, our fingerprint attendant was so nice, and the people who got their fingerprints done before us were adopting from Ethiopia, too! Overall, it was a great experience, and if you ever have to do this, it's fun! 

Since we were in Portland, we decided to trek up to Ikea! In true fashion, we got lost making our way to Ikea, but somehow we made it, and got some fun stuff! We are pretty excited about our minimal purchases, including straws! We are also pretty excited to test out our new french press.

Below may have been the highlight of the Ikea trip. We found this Baby Frost doll, and naturally had to get it. Some people may think this is weird, but it's important for little babes to have dolls that look like them, and it's important for me to have something tangible in the midst of all of this. So, call us weird if you want but we are thrilled with this purchase, and I will be treating it way more like a human than necessary.

As will Patrick, and that is just fine.

As part of any trade off with Patrick, Buffalo Wild Wings was involved. We were both happy. Ikea for me, Buffalo Wild Wings for him. He even came home with some sauce. Overall, it was a successful trip.

As most good things, we ended with a trip to Yo Cream! Yum, Yum, Yum! 

Who would have thought a mid-Tuesday morning excursion to Portland would be so fun! We had a great day-date and it was one of the best days to date in the midst of our journey. I want to remember today forever.

A majority of the ride back to Salem was spent listening to music that we associate with the day that we finally unite with baby frost. It was fun to dance and celebrate with baby doll frost in the car. This somehow made this whole thing seem a little more real. :)

What's next? We will wait to get USCIS approval in the mail and at that point, WE WILL BE ABLE TO SEND IN OUR DOSSIER! So, I will be checking our mail every afternoon like a mad woman, and putting the final touches on all of our documents! We are so close! Thank you for praying!
